Problem
to be solved
The
Choice
Care Card is a new concept in
the medical insurance field. With the rising costs of
medical insurance, employers are buying policies for
their employees with a much higher deductible, driving
the price of premium way down. In order to not saddle
their employees with a huge financial obligation because
of the large deductible, the employers are funding a
portion of that deducible for their employees.
Choice Care Card
enables employers to do this by providing a debit card
that is funded by the employers. The
employees use the debit card, just like a credit card,
when the pay for medical services.
Choice
Care Card
had a few issues that they looked to technology to solve.
One was providing information that was very accessible
to educated employers and employees on how the card
worked and what a benefit it is. The Web site needed
to be a place where information could easily be found
to answer the questions of both employers and employees.
Next
was to provide a way for employers to see if it made
financial sense for them to take this route when designing
their benefit packages. They would need a way to do
a side-by-side comparison of their current medical costs
and the proposed costs using the
Choice
Care Card.
If the employer finds the offer fiscally sound for them
then the next step would be to provide a way for the
employer to input all the necessary information for
Choice Care to process an application.
Once
the employer is set up, there would need to be a way
for employees of the company to enroll in the program.
With this information, Choice Care can provide the debit
card and other associated information.
Solution
In
order to give the employers the ability to run
the numbers to see if this made sense for them,
we created a pricing calculator
to demonstrate the financial benefit to the employer
to use the card as part of their medical insurance offering.
This calculator allowed the employer to enter the cost
information of their current plan. The resulting reports
provide a side-by-side comparison of their current cost
to the new cost and what they can expect to see in savings.
Once
the employer has determined that they would like to
offer the card, the next step is to provide on-line
forms to permit the employer to input all the necessary
information for Choice Care to process an application.
The information provided on the
Web interface is transferred to Choice Cares internal
system for processing.
After
the employers application has been processed and
they are set up in the system, the next step is to allow
the employees of the company enroll in the program.
This required an on-line application form. On this form,
the employee indicates which company they work for and
other pertinent information. This information is then
transferred to Choice Cares internal system for
processing.
Creative
Solution
In
order to reach a particular type of target audience
we designed a Web site that addressed two specific needs.
One need being the product and its benefits. The navigation
was created in a way to explain in steps
the process of using the product. The other need was
the service. The navigation was created to help either
the employer or employee through the process. A color
coded system was also created to help in aiding the
navigation. Simple and quick with
a strong image was the task to create credibility and
visibility.
With
the look and feel in place collateral materials, direct
mail and advertising are being put in place to further
enhance the the services and the products of the company
to increase awareness to the target audience.
